Pixel by Google is expecting to get the desktop mode sometime in near future. Google is working to develop a first-party desktop mode since long time now particularly for the Android devices.
This feature was to previously launch with the Android 16 version but now it is reportedly to launch with the latest Android 17 version. This shall allow make resizing windows easier for users along with fast connection between smartphones and desktops. This sounds pretty similar to the Samsung DeX and Motorola Connect.

As sources claim this latest Android Desktop Mode will let users enjoy large screens in their phones. When your phone will be connected to any other devices like desktop or laptop using USB Type C then you will have desktop type interface.
What more will this Offer?
As for some other capabilities this Android Desktop Mode will support not just multitasking capacities along with windows resizing and their movement as per the user's wish. It will also provide some desktop-similar features like navigation tools, app management features and the capacity to switch between smartphones and desktop interfaces.

Arrival of this new Desktop Mode Feature?
As written earlier, this version of desktop mode was to appear with Android 16 but Google for fine tuning the feature is taking time to experiment further. Now it can be expected as per speculations to arrive with Android 17.
The previous Android 16 Beta update has one feature added with it that is the "Enable Desktop Experience". Enabling this will display Android taskbar, the three navigation keys and some more features when you connect your Pixel phone with your desktop or laptop.

However it's release is still a matter of time as Google needs to brush and polish up it's user interface. Hence Android 17 will be the safe count to expect it's arrival on the next-gen Google Pixel smartphones.
