In 2020, the brand unveiled the OnePlus 8T that is a subtle upgrade over the OnePlus 8. The smartphone brought a new design, improved cameras, a higher refresh rate display, and fast charging. This flagship device was launched in October 2020 in India with the cost of Rs. 38,999 for the memory configuration of 8GB RAM paired with 128GB in-built storage. The other variant (12GB RAM and 256GB in-built storage) price is Rs. 41,999. The smartphone comes in two colour options - Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.
Display
The Android v10 based OnePlus 8T features a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolutions and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device is capped at 402 PPI pixel density and 1100nits of peak brightness which results in a clear and sharp screening experience. The smartphone also gets a bezel-less display that incorporates a punch-hole cutout that houses a front camera on the top left corner. As far as its dimensions are concerned, the device sizes 160.7 mm x 74.1 mm x 8.4 mm and weighs 188 g.
Camera
Turning our attention to the optics, the OnePlus 8T comes with a quad-camera setup at the back. It comprises a 48 MP f/1.7 primary camera joined by a 16 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, 5 MP macro camera, and 2 MP mono camera. The rear camera has a dual-LED flash and includes features like Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor, HDR, Panorama, Phase Detection autofocus, Continuous autofocus, and Digital Zoom. The smartphone introduced the video portrait mode that produces clips effects built on artificial intelligence. This AI system accurately detects and analyzes human subjects; thus, blurring the background. As far as the front camera is concerned, there’s a 16 MP selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
