IT giant Zoho Corporation is setting up the first-ever rural IT campus for this state at Kottarakkara town in the Kollam district of Kerala. It's not merely the spread of technology- this is the dawn of a new era when humanoid robots, AI, and rural development will coalesce.

The vision from Zoho- The light of Technology Outside The City

For quite a while now, CEO Sridhar Vembu has been working with a vision of spreading technology to the rural population outside the city. Talent does not belong to the metro cities. In a well-educated state like Kerala, there is also skilled manpower in rural areas who have been denied any opportunity. Opening up this campus in Kottarakkara is intended to give that opportunity.

What's Going to Be on The Campus?

This new IT campus is going to provide:

AI and humanoid robots lab

Software development center

Training center for local talents

Remote work support ecosystem

In Phase I, around 150 people will start working at this campus, and the numbers can further grow multiple times, Zoho informed.

A Boon for Local Development

This project will create jobs and also prop up the rural economy. A direct impact will fall on local shopping facilities, eateries, housing, and transport systems. It has also been mentioned that they are intending to collaborate with local colleges in running internship and skill development programs.

Humanoid Robots: Part of The Future Has Now Entered the Village

To add to the excitement, humanoid robot development and research labs will be established at this campus; labs that usually exist only in metro cities. However, Zoho is trying to make sure tomorrow's technology is developed from the villages as well.

Zoho's move will create a new dimension for the technology ecosystem in Kerala. The very fact that cities like Kottarakkara are being elevated into IT hubs will bring a little balance into the technological infrastructure of the whole country. This means that the Digital India dream can be birthed, not just from cities, but from villages. Only with the help of organizations like this can we accomplish a global, inclusive technology revolution.
