The chinese automaker company, Xiaomi has announced the second model of its own and the first SUV model, the 2026 Xiaomi YU7. The company claims the YU7 SUV is “a completely reimagined SUV from the ground up.” That means the model will not look like the SU7 sedan.

Design remains close to the SU7 sedan. The headlights look like the coil from McLaren. A similar window line of Ferrari Purosangue and proportion not unlike a Porsche Macan. The headlight hidden within the upper portion is like an aero-enhancing air channel that exits at the rear of the front guard.

Through the air channel, the airflow of the car is managed by 19 vents and 10 airflows. The company claims a low drag of 0.25 cd with the refined grilled louvres and the seamless clamshell that connects to a 59 Km development in the CLTC range.

The company also claims that the car has the largest mass-produced aluminium bonnet, which is the largest bonnet in the world, with the clamshell measuring 1960x1587 mm. The under-bonnet storage is just 14 litres, and 678 litres of rear storage. And it becomes 1758 when it's folded.

The Xiaomi YU7 features a leather trim and zero gravity seats with a cockpit-style dash layout, and the centre touch screen is 16.1 inches with a ‘HyperVision panoramic display’ that supports the full width of the interior. The windscreen measures 1.1 metres.

The actual pronunciation of the model is ‘yu-seven’ rather than ‘why-you-seven’. The model measures 4999 mm long and the wheelbase measures 3000 mm, 1996 mm wide and 1600 mm tall, that is around 69 mm longer. It's 105 mm more than a Porsche Cayenne Coupe. But it's 54 mm lower overall.

The performance of this model is 0-100 km/h taking 3.23 seconds. There is an electric drivetrain which is 508kW. It's called ‘Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus’ despite not being a V6. The dual motor is there and the peak outputs per motor of 288 k and 528nM. The model is available in three models that are standard, Pro and Max. The battery in the rear wheel is 96.3kWh that promises 835 km range of drive.

It has five setting height adjustment with 75 mm of travel that allows 222 mm of clearance. 10-80% charging is possible in just 12 minutes because of an 800-volt electrical architecture. In 15 minutes 620 km of range was covered.

There is seven anti glare cameras are there as part of an 11 camera vision based network, LiDAR sensing, 12 ultrasonic raiders with 200 metres viewing range. The company plans 10,000 sales sites globally by 2029.
