Xiaomi is one of the top players in the smartphone segment, beyond doubt. It has managed to grab a large share of the segment despite stiff competition from home turf rivals and Korean players. The brand is now gearing up to unveil a new line-up of smartphones with impressive specs and a new, revamped version of Android. The upcoming Xiaomi 14 series will come with a new iteration of Android, named HyperOS. The line-up will be officially unveiled on October 26th.
The Xiaomi 14 series will be aimed at people seeking midrange to premium segment smartphones. With the new line-up, the company will put an end to its much-criticized OS, MIUI. The devices will be officially launched in China and later will be launched in other markets. However, the Xiaomi 14 series will not only be special for the OS alone. The company is reportedly equipping the models with high-end imaging features and the models will come with premium Leica Summilux lens.
Not much is known about the new OS to be used in the Xiaomi 14 series. However, industry insiders reveal it will be a much cleaner take on Android compared to MIUI. The latter was slammed for its ads and heavy customizations. Lei Jun, the Xiaomi CEO, said HyperOS will be equipped with advanced AI tech. Incidentally, the new OS will not be limited only to Xiaomi smartphones. It will be rolled out to many Xiaomi devices.
The Xiaomi 14 series models are expected to have a punch-hole notch design and Corning Gorilla Glass displays. They may be laden with Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
