Xiaomi 13T aims to woo away premium smartphone users from Apple and Samsung

There is no denying the popularity of Chinese tech giant Xiaomi and its smartphones are a hit with budget and mid-range segment buyers. However, in the premium segment, the company has not been as successful as its home turf rivals and Samsung. Premium smartphone users usually prefer Apple, Samsung or OnePlus, as per the latest survey data. To change this trend, Xiaomi has spruced up its offering in the upper mid-range segment with the new 13T and 13T Pro.

The new Xiaomi 13T offers premium-segment features at a price that is unbeatable. The starting price of £549 is enticing. For this price, you get powerful hardware, good imaging capabilities and a high-quality display. The new 13T is powered by a beefy MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC. It has 8-12 GB RAM and storage is capped at 256 GB. Xiaomi sells it in hues like Alpine Blue, Meadow Green, and Black. The last two variants come in vegan leather back.

The 13T has a bright 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. The peak brightness is 2,600 nits and it supports HDR10+ content too. At the back, you get a 50MP camera with Leica branding. An ultra-wide camera with 12 MP sensor is there as well. Another 50MP telephoto camera sits at the rear. The selfie camera has a 20 MP sensor.

The Xiaomi 13T is laden with an IP68 rating for excellent water and dust resistance and it also gets Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. Inside, there is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
