Famous video game company 2K has taken over the WWE franchise, and they have been releasing all the WWE video games for more than a decade. They have released from excellent titles like WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K22, but they have also released awful titles like WWE 2K20.
But there has always been a huge complaint from The Gamers about 2K that these publishers are never as passionate as THQ was. Of course, neither THQ nor 2K ever made these video games, they just published these games. But the passion to bring something new has always been a talking point, and you can definitely discuss it.

THQ was more passionate than 2K in terms of making WWE video games
THQ has mostly worked with two developers over time to make the WWE video games, and they were AKI Corporation and Yuke's. Both of these developers have produced some huge titles like WWF No Mercy from AKI Corporation and The SmackDown series or The SmackDown vs RAW series from Yuke's.
The best part of these games where always the endeavour of creating something new which both of these developers did under THQ. They were always up to bring new game modes like new story modes every year, and game modes like the General Manager mode, or the Story Designer mode.
THQ was defunct back in January 2013
In the final two projects of Yuke's, they presented the Attitude Era mode and the 30 years of WrestleMania mode in place of story mode, and both of these two more welcoming editions, as fans loved them. There were even rumours that they were planning to bring something newer with their upcoming project.
But unfortunately, THQ announced its bankruptcy, and the company was done by January 2013. 2K took over WWE video games from here, and they introduced a simulation style gameplay. All those fun of fantasy fighting were gone, and users had to focus on chain wrestling more.

2K took over the WWE video games after the death of THQ in 2013
The new style of WWE video games was not much favoured by most of the WWE video game fans, but unfortunately for a lot of fans, the same style of gameplay still keeps on going. It is said that the makers of these video games under THQ were real life WWE fans, unlike the present makers.

But now it is whoever makes these games who has no idea about professional wrestling, and that is where the passion is completely missing. There are no new game modes, story modes do not have that passionate feel anymore, you cannot expect more than WWE title every year, unlike THQ days, and most importantly, it all feels a little filler. The only thing that gets improved every year is the roster. We hope things improve in the future.
