Microsoft seems to have transformed the long-beloved feature of its operating system Windows-the Blue Screen of Death, or the BSOD as it is popularly referred to. This time, the screen would no longer be blue-it would be black. Let us find out the reasons for this change, learn whether or not this affects other things, and what Microsoft would love to say to users.

What is BSOD & Reasons for its Significance
BSOD is basically a screen that stops functioning when this Operating System notices that there is an error serious enough for the platform to shut itself down by itself, avoiding further damage to data or hardware. It tells users about the kind of error and the code, which can then later be solved by those users themselves.
The blue color made us think that this was a typical or well-known screen for Windows users since the 1990s, which created some kind of emotional reaction - panic, annoyance, or fear.
Why Windows Would Be Such A Black Screen
Microsoft's plans to make this screen of BSOD black in Windows 11 is mainly providing a uniform and contemporary appearance as per the overall design language. Such screens at login, settings, and other user interfaces in this 11 also lean significantly towards a black or darker theme.
Moreover, the new color would make the presentation more appealing and balanced since it would create a pretty clean look to the UI. Even though such change will not be of much effect functional wise, it will definitely make a difference visually.

What This Means i.e. for Users
To many, this color change may seem like a mere trifling point, but actually, it heralds a change of perspective towards this designs. This shows how Microsoft today sees the need to modernize, to give the user experience a more elegant and minimalist design.
It is possible that this will even change the psyche of those who almost went into hysterics at the sight of this typical BSOD - somehow, the black screen looks more benign.

Although this change alone does not create any technical differences regarding the BSOD, it does create a whole new experience in design and user interaction. Even this update of this OS proves that Microsoft is not only focusing on features but also experience.
