The plan stipulates that Microsoft will cease support for the now-aged Windows 10 operating system on 14 October 2025. Many users, however, are still utilizing it while being unwilling to upgrade to Windows 11. This newly instituted package is the new chance to support Windows 10 amidst the condition.

New Chance to Use Windows 10
Microsoft has now come up with an Extended Security Updates (ESU) offer for Windows 10. This means that after the end of the main support, you can keep on expecting security updates for a further three years at a consolidated price and keep using Windows 10 until 2028 with peace of mind.
But With A Little Condition!
It will not be free for regular users. This entitlement was extended to enterprise customers while Microsoft planned Windows 7. They are just implementing the same model for Windows 10 now. Thus, if users want to continue using Windows 10, they are required to pay a yearly subscription fee.
Though Microsoft has not announced any price concerning that fee officially, by any guess, one could aim for a price point between $50-$100 per year per device, judging from the preceding experiences.
Reasons Many Stay Away from Upgrading to Windows 11
So many consider Windows 11 not usable for them because their machines do not meet the hardware requirements. Most of those requirements border on either TPM 2.0 or a select few processors, shutting out many aging devices.
Adding to this is a barrage of complaints from users about the new user interface and its annoying bug, thus many users are still inclined to stick to Windows 10.

Something to Consider
The better option is to upgrade if your PC can run Windows 11. But if that is not an option, you can continue to use Windows 10 with the ESU subscription.
Otherwise, an alternative operating system such as Linux seems to become an option to explore if drastically cutting costs.
Windows 10 users have one more chance to have a rewarding way of working on the platform, but it's not a free lunch. Now the deciding lesson-take an upgrade, take a subscription, or look for an alternative?
