The Vivo X80 series, launched in China last month, began its worldwide spread a few days ago, with Malaysia as the first stop and India to be the next destination. As Vivo's Indian branch stated earlier, the X80 series will launch in India on May 18 at 12:00 local time.

There are three models in the Vivo X80 series: the X80, X80 Pro, and X80 Pro+. The Pro+ version has yet to be shown, and it will not be available in India until Q3 2022, so it will not be available on Wednesday. Furthermore, while Vivo India has only announced the X80 Pro in the teaser, the inclusion of the term "series" in its promotional campaign means that the company will indeed debut the X80 on May 18.

The X80 and X80 Pro's Indian prices have yet to be released, although Vivo has stated that the smartphones would be offered solely through Flipkart. They will also be available on Vivo's official Indian site and in retail stores.

The processor of the X80 Pro has also been confirmed by Vivo. The smartphone will come with two chipsets: the Dimensity 9000 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors. The latter will power the Indian handsets, which isn't surprising given that the Malaysian model also uses Qualcomm's flagship silicon, while the Dimensity 9000 version is now only available in China.

However, its the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC that comes standard with the vanilla X80, regardless of locale. The Chinese variants of the X80 and X80 Pro, on the other hand, run Android 12-based OriginOS Ocean, while their global counterparts run FuntouchOS 12.
