The wait for Uncharted 5 seems like an eternity, as it has been eight long years since the last title, Uncharted The Lost Legacy released. The original series has a total of four parts, including one spin off that is already mentioned. But since then, there has not been any title released in the series.
At the end of Uncharted 4, it looked like the story of the series ended as Nathan Drake took retirement from his job and started focusing on his family life. However, it has never been officially announced that the series has ended and no more parts are coming out. So the fans never lost optimism.

However, news has recently come out that developer Naughty Dog is presently working on another project outside of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is scheduled to be the next project of the developer Naughty Dog. There is no confirmation on this project, but it can be Uncharted 5, hell, it can also be something else, like The Last of Us Part 3.
