Tecno Phantom V Flip video gets leaked just ahead of global launch

Despite a slower rate of adoption by the masses, the craze about flip phones has not withered away. This is clear from launching of flip phones by leading smartphone brands like Samsung, Oppo and Motorola in recent times. Tecno is about to unveil its upcoming flip phone model, named Phantom V Flip. However, the device got leaked in a video that has now gone viral just ahead of its global unveiling. While the official venue for the launch is Singapore, Tecno will make the device available in countries like India and Nigeria.

What sets the upcoming Tecno Phantom V Flip apart from all competing flip phones is that it has a unique circular exterior display. The display shown in the video leaked online has made waves. However, it remains to be seen if the display is able to run typical Android apps. The main display has also been revealed by the video. As per the leaks, the device has a 6.9” FHD+ AMOLED display. It is likely to feature 120 Hz refresh rate.

Spec-wise, the Tecno Phantom V Flip should be able to take on the segment rivals pretty well. Inside the device sits a mighty Dimensity 1300 SoC, aided by 8GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage is 256GB. It gets two cameras on the cover display with 13 MP ultra-wide and 64 MP main sensors. A 4,000mAh battery powers the device. The exact pricing is not known but leaks suggest the company will price it aggressively in the Indian market, with an INR 50000 starting price.
