Stupid decision to swap out my 4K for the TCL C8K when it finally came down to reality, but it made setting up even easier once firing up the new set. It was just that much of a distance from being one of those. Much more bright, much more colors, much better contrast. Somehow, I just keep picking very fine detail.

The TCL C8K Display: Very Lovely.
Mini-LED is the best that can give in terms of profile, of course, with TCL C8K. Besides comparisons, the somewhat shocking brightness and even most of all extreme contrast is what my old television will give up to 4K-mostly HDR content:
- Brighter materials seem to glow more.
- Deep blacks seem clearer and deeper.
- Colors seem richer.
Very impressive, particularly on Netflix or YouTube or on an HDR movie.
Performance and Smart Features
The class of performance endowed with a whole range of up-to-date features, fast response time, smooth UI, a decent main streaming application, and almost everything can be played:
- Low input lag
- High refresh rate
- Gamer friendly
Otherwise, it still functions as an excellent T.V. across the board.
What Did I Miss?
The most painful images and color combinations really are above, but one could probably mourn a bit that it was probably a little smoother and softer reproduction like my old television. They know that sharpness-brightness would be better to most average consumers, but yes, sometimes materials have an over-processed feel.
Before it was that television:
- The most natural images.
- The least straining on the eyes.
- The least tiring for long hours of viewings.
Unfortunately, I must resolve that regardless of how I nicely have this thing set to what I consider optimal settings, that experience will always be what I will remember when I think of it.
Upgrade: A Good Decision?
Definitely yes. Huge improvement for sure, regarding all the new-goodness technology brings with respect to rather extreme light being future-proofed for the device.
This could also be taken as an endorsement from anyone needing a somewhat natural and very softly reproduced image.

Conclusion
Herein is the change from an older 4K TV to a TCL C8K and the improvements in visual experience. Glow, contrast, and intelligent characteristics in this device have marvelous features. But sometimes, amidst all the modernization, this device leaves a yearning for the naturality of pictures produced by older televisions.
