Starlink has made available its 'T-Satellite' to T-Mobile customers now. It is an unprecedented service through a collaborative endeavor between SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, and T-Mobile, a telecom giant in the US. This service allows connection almost anywhere on Earth, where no reach of the cell tower exists.

How Does T-Satellite work?

T-Satellite is a direct satellite-to-mobile phone service. Through this, cell phones directly connect to Starlink's low-orbit satellites without needing any external devices or special hardware. The service will run on standard 4G/5G smartphones.

Service Will Operate in Dead Zones

This technology will operate primarily in those so-called dead zones areas without cellular networks. Mountains, jungles, beaches, where a person can always somehow at least send SOS texts in dire emergencies, should be connected.

Text Messaging is The First Step

Phase one of T-Satellite contains the one facility for sending and receiving text messages. However, T-Mobile also mentioned that it plans to include voice calls and data in the future.

Importance of The Service of Starlink powered T-Satellite

It can come in handy, and perhaps even save lives, during disasters, while traveling through remote areas, or in any situation where normal networks fail. This will be part of T-Mobile's Coverage Beyond initiative to reach 100 percent of the population with coverage.

T-Satellite is not only a technological giant leap, but also actually fulfills human needs. It opens new channels for mobile communication which could change the future telecom world.
