It all starts with Spotify Wrapped; the whole thing revolves around the needs of the user. The listener is then drawn into this supposed movement that just plays the most-listened-to songs and the most-liked music genres according to how many minutes of audio was consumed over an entire year, using a very vibrant, animated storytelling style.
Contrary to the truth that Recap interface of Youtube sounded, to many listeners, upon most complicated and elusive in form, it was often boring just to seek for the recap. Their interest completely faded away, user-wise, without cognition.

Emotion Connect Versus Data-Presented
Thus, mostly media by Spotify Wrapped. It does not simply narrate facts; it tells emotional tales about how a listener relished music and moods and habits throughout the year. Hence, the strong yearning to tell the story. Most of YouTube Recap comes pure data-how many hours have been viewed, which videos have been most frequently viewed, and so on. Users don't feel the need to share their YouTube Recap as it lacks emotional aspects.
Weak Media Sharing Strategy
From the first, Spotify Wrapped is partially made for sharing among people across Instagram, Facebook, or X, with sharing just a click away. The colorful graphics and animations, coupled with that, made it a massive hit.
This, however, is different from YouTube Recap because the sharing is empty; the artwork we had was equally lame. No buzz was generated on social media.

Spotify: Source Of Different Cultural Contents
Spotify is a pure music base, and people's emotions get attached to songs usually; hence, taking a long trip down memory lane, as music-hearing exploits, is natural for them towards the end of every year.
YouTube is all about multiple content types-music, education, entertainment, news, and anything in between. And since the summary is pretty much generalized, it makes things worse in terms of personalized connection.
Although user experience was limited of emotional sharing inferring sharing options, setting apart other differentiating elements, the company Wrapped personalized it, making it visually attractive, audibly viral in design, and strong on social sharing in people's hearts.
Should YouTube develop more avenues for a witty recap in years to come, it will stand to create a whole new level for competition.
