In a similar fashion, songs can be 'Liked' by the user who would also, in turn, serve the purpose of better recommendation of great songs in the future from the algorithmic perspective.

This new control scheme is more likely to become user-friendly for Spotify. Those who make regular use of Discover Weekly may now fashion such list according to their likes or otherwise, thus enhancing the enjoyment of their listening experience.
This change will also make the algorithm that implements machine learning work better since user ratings will feed directly into the algorithm. In essence, the more you ‘Like’, and the more you ‘Don’t Like’, the more accurate your playlist will be.
