After the smartphones, experts who assess technology have started analyzing: what's next? The world's technology has changed a lot, and strict demands have been put upon further development. What else besides smartphones? one might ask. One could make this qualitative to the extent of calling the four biggest names in tech someday to chat about the question.
AR Glasses: John Carmack
Carmack, as did the original Oculus and some of its predecessors from the VR area, foresaw AR glasses as the next great revolution. According to him, little glasses receiving virtual information before our eyes would replace future smartphones. "This should catch on in the next 5 to 10 years along those lines, whether it's along Google's or Apple's, for that matter."
Brain-Computer Interface - Elon Musk
One who calls himself chief executive officer, co-founder, and primary shareholder of Tesla, Inc., and Neuralink has the upcoming thought that interfaces of the coming age will connect directly to the human cerebral system: "Smartphones are hand-held, while neural links can be controlled by thought." These, however, will probably stay debatable topics; at least, they may be called true game changers.
Sundar Pichai
As stated by Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, future devices should be seldom used with touch; they will respond to voice input. "Or in terms of smartphones, you could say AI will be everywhere in voice assistants: in the home, in the car, even on wearables."
Holographic Displays of Smartphones
If one gives credence to Sarah Cooper, an analyst of technology, she believes holographic displays are probably the next leap for AR and VR. "An incredibly tiny projector that creates three-dimensional holograms- this might one day replace cell phones." Further discussion
It is believed that this bunch of next technologies would redefine how humans live, apart from smartphones. The future, including AR glasses, brain interfaces, AI voice assistants, or holographic displays, might be the next big step for smartphones.
