CNET, the world's most popular tech publication on audio, recently conducted a survey and reported that while smart handsets have improved work routines, certain tasks can only be done by laptops.

One fact is sure: with a mobile phone, indeed, work is not as good as if it were done on a laptop. For example, if someone uses a device only for social media or for very short text messages, a handset will provide sufficient service. But for intensive work, such as data analysis, graphics designing, video editing, or heavy official loads, a laptop becomes an imperative medium.
Apprehension and Inconvenience of Multitasking with A Smart Handset
Many of the CNET survey respondents reported the perception that eye strain from working for long periods at a time on smartphones was quite bothersome, and something like multitasking would be a little more difficult with them. Laptops have made many necessary tasks easier, particularly for students and professionals, with their bigger screens, full keyboards, and software support.

Most people have a combination of a smart mobile phone and a laptop these days. For example, one checks his or her email or goes through social media while on the move using a smartphone, while doing the major work at home or in an office on a laptop. Analysts say that this is a fair yet very smart way to go about things.
No matter how powerful handsets are now, laptops will always thrive on their functionality. Handsets in the future will probably have progressed in becoming even more powerful than they are at present; nonetheless, both handsets and laptops will continue to be requisite for a very long period.
