Scott Steiner was introduced to the WWE Universe for the first time back in the early 90s and he mostly worked as a Tag Team wrestler along with his brother Rick Steiner. Together, they were famously known as the Steiner Brothers and they had also been a two times WWE Tag Team Champions.
He was promoted as a main event star for the first time in his wrestling career during the late 90s in WCW. He had been a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion and he also won other prestigious championships in the promotion like the United States Heavyweight Championship a couple of times. He returned to WWE in late 2002 as a singles wrestler for the first time.

When he made his return to WWE, the promotion wanted to push him as a main event star and he was also quite over with the fans. He was also awarded two back to back World Heavyweight Championship matches against Triple H in two different pay per view events. Scott Steiner recently remembered his second run in WWE and explained how much he was over with the fans. Speaking on Talk Is Jericho recently, he explained;

“They played my music, I went out and just beat up Matt Hardy and Nowinski. Even Howard Finkel came up to me after and said, ‘Man, that was one of the biggest pops I’ve witnessed.’ I was actually fairly surprised that I got that response, and so I thought, ‘This is great, they don’t have to push me much because they already know who I am.'”

The first World Heavyweight Championship match he got against Triple H was in the Royal Rumble event of 2003 which was one of the worst receive matches of the mentioned year, however, Steiner was presented as the stronger force in this match. At the next PPV event which was No Way Out, Steiner got a rematch for the title which he lost.
After losing for the World Heavyweight Championship match at No Way Out, WWE gave of on pushing Steiner as a top star and slowly he became a lower mid card. WWE fans also pretty much gave up on him. In August 2004, he was released from WWE and he never returned to the promotion as a wrestler again. In 2022 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame along with his brother Rick Steiner.
