OnePlus aims at plating iPhone taste with it's latest innovation. The company is looking ahead at launching a programmable button PlusKey by replacing it's old Alert Slider. This will offer customizable functions and will give a similar look as of the Action Button in iPhone.

Latest Announcement by OnePlus
The company has made an official announcement of the launch of it's upcoming smartphone the OnePlus 13s. Along with this it says that it will be the first ever smartphone from the brand to feature the Plus Key, a replacement to the Alert Slider. It also comes with a tagline "one key to rule them all."
Plus Key: a iPhone Copied Style?

To be very specific about the design and function this key is to perform, yes it does resemble the Action Button of the iPhone 16. It is placed on the left side of the phone and it performs the same as the Alert Slider by default and allows users to change the sound profiles.
What Else does the Plus Key Offers?
As a programmable button the Plus Key can be used for several functions like camera shutter, for the flashlight, for translating and also as direct AI assistance. But it remains unclear as of now whether the company will give complete customisation of the Plus Key to the users or will it need some more time and experiments to do so. Apple on the other hand keeps its Action Button limited in terms of functioning by it's users.

This idea was first seen implemented in the foldable smartphone OPPO Find N5 and then with time OPPO now expands it to other devices including OnePlus and this feature is specifically implanted in the mid to high range handsets.
Other Features to be Noticed
The OnePlus 13s is nothing different but the already introduced in China as the 13T model of the brand. This upcoming range is kept for selective Chinese and Indian markets by the brand. The smartphone is expected to be compact with RAM of 12GB and internal storage of 256GB. It will carry a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and will have two color availability. It will feature a double camera of 50MP with both wide angle and telephoto lens.
The device is expected to come with the Android 15 based OxygenOS 15 and will have four years OS updates alongside security patches of six years.
