The OnePlus Ace was released in China a month ago, and the company will release a new model tomorrow called the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition. Despite the name, this isn't merely a fresh coat of paint; this model has several significant changes.

The Racing Edition has already been listed on OppoShop.cn, displaying product images. Photos of the smartphone in black are also available on Evleaks. See? There aren't any racing stripes at all. But did you notice the Power button in the corner? That's most likely a fingerprint scanner as well.

Because this model converts from a 120Hz AMOLED display to a 120Hz LCD (6.59" in size, according to TENAA), it is required. On Weibo, OnePlus China President Louis Li said that the screen would support six refresh rates.

Zooming in on the back, photos reveals the primary camera's 64MP badge and the 15-25mm marking, which indicates the focal lengths of main and ultra-wide cameras (in 35mm equivalent). The normal Ace, as a reminder, has a 50+8+2 MP camera setup on the back. Another teaser image of a Racing Edition device reveals a 3.5mm headphone port on the bottom (the standard Ace lacks one).

We don't know what other hardware changes will be made, but the chipset will remain the same — a Dimensity 8100-Max. Another item that will alter is the cost. The standard Ace costs CNY 2,500, but Mr. Li dubbed the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition (roughly ₹23,000), one of the most excellent phones in the CNY 2,000 price bracket, so this one should be less expensive. The whole phone will be revealed soon.
