There is hardly anything to elaborate on the huge popularity of Gmail. Google’s proprietary email service is a part of its online ecosystem and a hit among users of varying types. You get Gmail in many flavors, including versions for Windows and Android. Now, the tech giant has unveiled a new and exclusive Gmail version for Wear OS users. The Gmail for Wear OS was launched along with the company’s much anticipated Pixel Watch 2. Previously, the feature was teased by Google.
So far, Google has not offered Wear OS users any direct option to access Gmail using the smartwatch devices. They were only alerted of new emails. The app looks pretty solid and users can refresh the inbox, switch between multiple accounts and scroll through emails. The app will work on devices running on Wear OS 3 and its successor, too. Gmail for Wear OS can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
The new Gmail app will prove to be bliss for working professionals always juggling between various Gmail accounts and who are mostly on the move. The new app supports a watch face as well to show shows new emails. As per industry buzz, Google is also preparing a calendar app for Wear OS though the company is still tight-lipped about that.
