Fighting games have been in existence since the very first day of video gaming, and it has seen revolution after revolution with different with new titles and new franchises kept on being introduced. Some of these franchises have gone on to achieve the ultimate supremacy.
The first ever fighting game that was introduced among The Gamers was Heavyweight Champ back in 1976. It was an arcade game made by Sega, and it was 8 2D black and white 8 bit boxing game. It is said to be heavily inspired by the Academy Award winning movie Rocky, which was released in the same year.

But then there was a fighting game in August 1992, by the name Mortal Kombat. Not only did it completely change the perspective of the fighting games, but it has also introduced possibly the most important thing in this genre, Gore. And it is not just normal gore, it was on an extreme level.

In 2023, Mortal Kombat 1 was released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
