Today, a significant number of users across the globe are unable to access Microsoft's Outlook application. Sending and receiving mail, signing in, and so on have all been rendered unusable. The issue does not only extend to Outlook itself; other services like Exchange Online and Teams have reportedly also begun to receive a pounding.

User Reports
The number of reports from users has shown that several have written about their inability to log in or encounter repeated errors in just opening their inbox on various social sites. According to DownDetector, users from several countries, including India, the UK, the USA, and Canada, have also reported the outage.
Microsoft Says
The company confirmed, quoting, "We're aware of the problem with some services in Outlook and Microsoft 365. Our teams are working quickly to restore them. More information will be made available to users."
Who Is Suffering?
Both Outlook Web Access and the desktop client are down for all customers. Many are stuck at login, while some report that after logging in, their inbox, no new messages. The business and workplace activities have been seriously interrupted by all these issues.
Experts are suspicious that any service outages might have resulted from a critical configuration server issue or be related to a cloud update. However, it is keeping itself tight-lipped about the cause.

Alternate Options
Users may have no option but to look for alternative mail services, if that is feasible, and conduct important work while offline. They should check the Microsoft official status page or Twitter account for updates whenever feasible.
Again, an age that relies so totally on technology is reminded that the heavier the dependency on cloud and online services, the greater the risk. But then again, the management has reassured that they are treating this with the utmost priority to resolve it as a priority.
