The women’s Royal Rumble match of 2023 is often regarded as the best women’s Royal Rumble match so far. This match is often remembered for being filled with surprises and fascinating spots. There were surprise entrances and it also marked the infamous return of Chelsea Green who got eliminated from the match in only 5 seconds.

The match also recorded Rhea Ripley’s amazing performance for winning the Rumble match by entering No. 1. So far, she is the only woman in WWE history to win a Rumble match by entering no. 1. Ripley also set the record of surviving in a women’s Rumble match for the longest time, which had been broken by multiple names this year.

Michelle McCool Remembers Her Royal Rumble 2023 Appearance And Explains Why It Was Special

As already mentioned above, the event recorded a number of surprise entrances. Michelle McCool was the only legend to appear in the Rumble match she had been excellent at the age of 43. McCool recently spoke with Chris Van Vliet on his ‘Insight’ Podcast where she looked back on this appearance and explained why it was special for her. She said;

Michelle McCool had been a four times WWE Women’s/Divas Champion

"Yeah, that was fun. That was interesting. I've told the story before. They called me on very short notice. I think it was eight, nine days, asked me if I wanted to do it, and I was like, 'Oh shoot ... I mean, yes, I'll work out.' But I'm sure you've heard it a million times, ring shape is a whole different ball game," she said. "I think at one point, I was kind of in a corner with — it was either Piper or Naomi — I was like, 'Give me a second y'all, I'm tired.'"

Michelle McCool’s last in ring appearance was in Royal Rumble 2023

"Honestly, it was a thing where Mark [Calaway] and I talked, our daughter was kind of struggling, she's a perfectionist, and if she can't do something on the first try, she gets so mad. So it was a kind of a lesson.

"I said, 'You know what? I'm just gonna let her know this is something that mommy is kind of a little bit terrified to do on such a short notice. I don't know if I'm ready to do it, but you know what, we can be scared and brave at the same time and go out and do it.'"
