The craze surrounding the AR and VR tech just refuses to die and technology giants are utilizing the trend. In the latest development, Meta, the behemoth behind popular social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram has unveiled futuristic VR glasses in collaboration with iconic eyewear brand Ray-Ban. The smart glasses were unveiled by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the recently held Meta Connect 2023 event.
The model shown by Zuckerberg is now named Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses. The new glasses will go on sale in October and pre-order options are open. Meta is marketing these glasses as versatile devices and accessories that geeks will relate to. The glasses will replace your headphones. They offer similar features like gadgets including the Bose Tempo series and Amazon’s Echo Frames. The Meta glasses have five mics to enable crystal-clear music playback and interactions.
The Meta glasses also double up as a camera. They can record 1080p videos and take 12 MP snaps smoothly. The internal storage at 32 GB is not huge though. The Meta View app is there to let you sync content seamlessly. With the device, you will be able to record and share content across various online platforms owned by Meta.
With the Meta glasses, you can also start a livestream on Instagram or Facebook quickly. The device is now more like a creator tool. You get the devices in some color options like caramel and matte jeans. It is powered by Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1SoC and the battery lasts for 4-6 hours once charged.
