Kevin Owens Remembers Wining The Universal Championship And Explains How It Affected His Life

Kevin Owens is presently having an excellent feud with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. His match with the American Nightmare at the Saturday Night's Main Event show was the show stealer and after his performance a lot of fans want him to see winning the WWE championship.

Owens' first and only World Championship reign came back in 2016 when he defeated Roman Reigns to win the WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship. After dropping the title in early 2017 he could never taste the main event Championship success again.

Owens had been one of the most consistent wrestlers in WWE in the recent years and it is believed that he was never rewarded properly for his commitment to the promotion. Recently the formal WWE Universal champion appeared  on the “Muscle Memory” podcast where he remembered his first and only World title reign in WWE. He said;

“It’s very hard to capture into words, that feeling [of winning]. It’s something I had worked for my entire career pretty much, a moment I had envisioned in my mind, no exaggeration, probably over a thousand times, if not more. So when something like that happens in real life, you would think that it’s hard to live up to the expectations or live up to what you envisioned it to be, but it definitely did.”

“A lot of that night is still ingrained in my memory, from the moment I walked back from the ring, to calling my family, talking to my parents, my wife, my kids, Finn [Balor] even and his family, funny enough.” concluded the former WWE Universal Heavyweight champion.

There are strong rumours that Owens may get to feature on the main event of WrestleMania 41 where he may challenge for the WWE championship. It triple threat match is rumoured where he and Orton go on to challenge for the WWE championship. But there is also rumours that The Rock may steal the main event spot from them.
