Well, when it comes to a brand, whose very name stands for Bluetooth advertisement, anything so personal as an emotional craving for a portable speaker plays the most critical role on the purchase decision. It unfortunately confuses them right down at the wire when it is an either-or decision between either choosing the JBL Flip 7 or the JBL Grip. The question that frequently arises is: Which one should I choose? Having purchased both instruments not long ago and used them to good effect, I have drawn parallels between sound, battery life, ergonomics, and practical considerations, and not least my favorite feature which allows you to find out which one works best for you.

JBL Flip 7 vs JBL Grip: Sound Quality and Performance Comparison
Mostly known for well-balanced sound, Flip 7 gives a slightly clear bass experience with ample mids and treble present in good measure across media from music to Youtube to podcasts. The sound seldom gets blown out at high volumes through medium to large rooms, as is the case with JBL Grip.
Comparatively, the bass is more prominent with the Grip. EDM lovers, hip-hop lovers, or anyone who simply favours very bass-heavy music will surely enjoy the Grip. Rather, as you increase the loudness, it loses a lot of charm above Flip 7, especially indoors.
Battery Backup and Connectivity
With Flip 7, you get, approximately, 12 hours and more of playtime per charge. Bluetooth connection is pretty fast and maintains stability throughout long ranges. Lag or drop very seldomly occurs, even when connecting multiple devices. It has a slight edge over the Grip, giving around 14 hours of playtime. Just right for outdoor usage or long trips. Other than this, connectivity wasn't flawless as yet like that with Flip 7, especially when confronted with barriers.

Design, Build, and Practical Pros
Cylindrical lightweight portability of the Flip 7 really makes it easy to carry in a bag or bicycle bottle holder. Good water and dust resistant so that it can be freely used while traveling. Grip Bubble looks terribly tough and heavy-duty and having the extra weight feels good. Long periods of holding it, on the other hand, might not be optimized.
It indeed has an impressive crystal clear sound and very light in weight, plus rugged that makes it perfect for the everyday Bluetooth speaker, the JBL Flip 7. For those who are looking for strong bass, battery backup, or applications while being outdoors, maybe the Grip is best for you.
