Getting released from any job may be the worst experience that every worker ever faces. Recently, WWE has been releasing loads of their talents, there are even rumors that multiple names are yet to get released by the promotion soon. Some of the names that got released on the latest queue were quite shocking.

One of the wrestlers who lost her job later last year was the Australian professional wrestler Indi Hartwell who was a top star on NXT which is the developmental territory of WWE but had a terrible run on the main roster. Hartwell always received regular bookings in the NXT, she even won the NXT Women’s Championship.

But ever since joining the main roster, she struggled to get regular bookings and it was a big struggle for her to remain mainstream. She worked with Candice LeRae in a tag team much like their NXT days, but the lack of regular bookings already caused permanent damage to her career. Hartwell recently appeared on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast where she revealed her daily fear of getting released when she was employed in WWE;

“Sometimes, I would get a call saying I wasn’t needed for TV and I wouldn’t be traveling that week. That’s when I would get really scared, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m going to get released.’ I always had it in the back of my mind that I’m going to get released. Not that I manifested that, but I was always scared of it. It wasn’t until maybe my last two weeks of being in WWE where I finally felt comfortable and confident. ‘I’m good now,’ and that’s when it happened.”

She also expressed her joy of working in her hometown; “As for plans, I never really heard of anything. I did get a few opportunities. I got to wrestle in my home country in a stadium. I got to wrestle in front of my family for WWE. That was one of the best experiences. I got to wrestle in Saudi. I got to tag with Candice again, which was awesome. I’m grateful, but I didn’t really hear much of plans.”

Indi Hartwell was released from WWE back in November 2024, and she did not appear in any wrestling promotion following her WWE release. We can expect her to return to the independent circuit once her WWE non compete clause ends. A lot of wrestlers are suffering from a lack of regular bookings these days in WWE, hope things get fixed soon.
