The Made by Google event held in New York City yesterday turned out to be a major headline-maker, with the technology giant unveiling its much-anticipated smartwatch, along with other gadgets. A highlight of the annual event was definitely the Google Pixel Watch 2, introduced by James Park. The new model comes with an aluminum housing built from recycled materials and a sturdier cover glass. Google also claims enhanced battery life and fast charging benefits.

The nice thing about the new Pixel Watch 2 is that it offers all-day battery life even when users enable the always-on display. It also gets a major performance boost alongside sensors and new safety features. The performance is aided by a new quad-core CPU based on the well-known Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip that replaces the earlier Exynos 9110 SoC. While the battery life is enhanced in the model, the capacity remains 306mAh. You can get it charged up to 50% in only 30 minutes. The device running on Wear OS 4 gets 2GB of RAM.

The exterior design of the new Pixel Watch 2 is not different from its predecessor. The only size option is 41 mm. You get a 1.2" circular OLED display and the screen resolution is 384 x 384 pixels. The new color options are gold and hazel, black, silver and white. The device now gets three new sensors for offering users more accurate health updates. It has enhanced voice-enabled features as well.

The Pixel Watch 2 ships with proactive safety features Safety Check, Emergency Sharing, and Medical ID, along with Emergency SOS and fall detection. The device has a GPS and another LTE version. Google Pixel Watch pricing in India starts at INR 39990.
