The Samsung watch series is continuously growing with new features and designs. Is Galaxy Watch8 Classic a better watch than the predecessor model Watch7? Let's check out how these two watches differ: performance-wise and price-wise; is the upgrade justified?

Design and Build Quality: Back in Style: The Rotating Bezel
The rotating bezel came back with the good old Galaxy Watch8 Classic, missing on Watch7. The bezel also helps with operating the watch while giving it a classic look. Premium features of the watch are enhanced with stainless steel casing and slimmer design.
On the flip side, Galaxy Watch7 has a digital bezel with an aluminum casing, which is lightweight but cheap-feeling and far from classic.
Display And Protection: Toughest Of Materials
Both the watches have AMOLED displays, whereas, Watch8 Classic added Sapphire Crystal Protection, which goes a step higher in the durability of the watch against scratches and impacts. Almost similar brightness and size of display takes away any credit for premium material.
Performance and Software: Galaxy Watch8 New Processor Brings More Speed
Watch8 Classic comes with the latest Exynos W1000 chipset which aids much speedier launching of apps and smoother animations as compared to the past. Both the watches run on Wear OS 5 along with OneUI Watch software, the Watch8 Classic will enjoy that much more software support in the years to come.
Health Features & Sensors: More Accurate Tracking
The BioActive Sensor of the Watch8 Classic has been considerably improved for better accuracy in tracking heart rate, sleep, stress, and body composition. Another addition to skin temperature measurement and improved Fall Detection is on the O8 Classic.
Though it had most of the core features needed, Watch7 lacked a few modern living amenities, and sensor accuracy was one such thing that was not among them.

Battery Backup: Small Improvements, Big Difference
Both watches nearly have similar battery lives, while software improvements have allowed the Watch8 Classic a little longer lasting time, achieving around 2 days on battery back up with normal use.
If you are a Watch7 user now enjoying the available features, there is no need for upgrading. If you desire more accurate health tracking with advanced sensors, an experience in classic design, and a rotating bezel, then Galaxy Watch8 Classic is your best choice.
