Fortnite, perhaps the world's most-loved battle-royale game, has seen its return yet again delayed for the iPhone and, by the same token, its iPad version. This latest delay reached Brazil. The game's developer, Epic Games, has gone so far as to issue a statement, stating they have been unable to get the game back on Apple devices as per the original schedule.
Gamers in Brazil have shown remarkable patience, nearly to the point of desperation, to play this once again on their iPhones and iPads. And yet Epic Games issued a statement saying: "We're not ready yet, and we will need more time to prepare the game."
The Delay Reasons
The game was pulled from the App Store in 2020, following the ongoing lawsuit between Epic Games vs. Apple. Hundreds of attempts from users to bring back the game since then have failed, mainly due to a number of technical or legal reasons.
Epic Games stated they wish to bring the "Epic Games Store" to iOS, according to the EU's new Digital Markets Act (DMA). However, at the moment, the causes of delay in Brazil lack either regulation or technical readiness.
User Frustration
Some devastated Brazilian gamers posted their frustrations on social media: "We have waited for Fortnite so long, but the game keeps on delaying with another stupid excuse."
This delay frustrates only those with iPhones and iPads. Some fun can be had on Android or PC, but gaming on Apple's devices is an entirely different level of fun.
When will Fortnite Make Its Comeback?
So far, no date has been given for a brand new launch of Fortnite on Apple Devices. However, Epic Games has confirmed it's on the project, along with good news for users approaching soon.
The wait for the return of Fortnite to the iPhone and iPad has grown even longer in Brazil. Epic Games decided to delay the release for technical preparations because of the legal issues. In spite of it hurting the users, they remain hopeful that the game will soon return to their favorite devices.
