Fortnite by Epic Games receives another road block from Apple. All of it started afresh just a few days back but Apple seems to be unhappy with the return of the mass favorite digital game. Legal battle between the two companies start again when the video game was blocked on Friday for the iPhone gadgets in the regions of European Union and the U.S.

Apple Not Happy with Fortnite's Return?

Fortnite

All of a sudden on Friday gaming lovers were shocked when Apple blocked the access to Epic's video game on iPhone devices again. As per the latest report the access to the video game in all iOS devices will remain blocked globally and shall be available only when Apple unblocks and permits it's access again through the App Store. This is what the gaming company claims.

The Reason for Restricting Fortnite?

No reason was given from Epic Games' end as to why Fortnite was blocked by Apple. But The iPhone company came up saying that it wants Epic Sweden to go through the gaming update all over again and then resubmit it but not to include the storefront of the U.S. region as to not affect the game in other places.

An Apple spokesperson said that they have not gone for any such measure to remove the live version of the gaming from the other marketplaces.

What is the Clash all about?

Epic Games is a gaming company mainly based in the U.S. and has the backing of Tencent which is a Chinese Company and the biggest of all the gaming studios around the world. It is from the year of 2020 onwards that illegal battle is going on between Apple and the gaming company Epic Games.

This legal tassel started when the gaming company complained about Apple violating the US antitrust rules by charging an unauthorized commission to rate of 30% for its in app payment.

And back now on Friday the gaming firm urged the U.S. judge from California to charge Apple for it's unethical action of blocking the return of Fortnite in the App Store for the region in and of U.S. During the filing of the case the gaming company said that Apple should be a part of the session before the court rules for allowing the return of the game.

This step of Apple is considered by Epic Games as a shameful behavior of retaliating against the gaming company who challenged Apple's anti-competitive measure and exposed its false narratives before the court.

Well no comment has come in immediately from Apple when it was approached to comment for filing beyond the normal business hours.

This is not the first time. Apple banned Fortnite back in the year 2020 from it's access via iOS devices and from it's App Store. But in 2024 The game was really allowed of course not willingly but only for the pressure made on the company by the European union authorities who direct s the tech giants to obe y and corporate following the rules of the Digital Markets Act.
