Today, the Adjustment Unveiling New Invalid Fare to the Hike of Delhi Metro Fare Dearness. The DMRC has now talked about the fare hikes for passengers. It was a very short hike because it would be a fair change from August 25, 2005-the first in so many years. This is said to have been made in the public interest in the name of an increase in infrastructural development.

What Is the Quantum of Fare Hike?

New Rates state that, on a distance-wise average, fares went higher, but only by Rs 1 to Rs 4. Short rises are recorded with an increase of Re 1, while a long increase can incur an increase of Rs 4 in fare. Nevertheless, the Delhi Metro has been one of the cheapest and eco-friendly means of public transport in India.

2-5 km: Up by Re 1.

5-12 km: Up by Rs 2.

12-21 km: Up by Rs 3.

Above 21 km: Up to Rs 4

Time of Fare Hikes?

According to the DMRC, there is a fractional increase in operational costs and maintenance costs, and this has much more to do with the power. On the other side of the coin, it is great when there have been huge investments in technology and infrastructure, and further consideration of service safety and quality of service for the passenger.

Passenger opinions: Mostly are "just" and "bearable" enough for others. It is such a small amount that it is not expected to be a burden on most general passengers.


It carries more than a million people a day, playing an integral role in decongesting traffic and pollution in its own way within the city. If an extra penny in fare will stand for good service quality, that's certainly a step ahead.
