Famous horror fiction writer H.P. Lovecraft has always been a huge inspiration for video game makers throughout the years. There are countless video games based on the stories and novels written by Lovecraft. Once again, a new title based on Lovecraft’s fiction is under way.

One of the most underrated Lovecraftian horror game; The Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth took inspirations from two stories written by Lovecraft; The Call of Cthulhu of course, and The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

Recently, it has been announced that a new video game based on Lovecraftian fiction is under way. Once again, it is going to portray Cthulhu as the main antagonist of the game much like many other Lovecraftian horror video games.

Cthulhu The Cosmic Abyss; the game that is presently on the horizon does not seem to be loosely based on any story from Lovecraft. From the trailer that released last month, it looks like it is going to be a futuristic sci-fi horror game with a unique storyline and with Lovecraftian horror elements.

But there is no confirmation on the release date of this upcoming game. Rumours have it that it will be released by 2026. It is also been confirmed that the video will be released on multiple platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Hopefully, Cthulhu The Cosmic Abyss horror turns out to be an excellent release that would satisfy the horror lovers to the core.
