WWE Hall of Famer Edge who is presently working in AEW under his name Adam Copland recently turned 51 but even at this age, he is doing a fantastic job. He missed nine years of action due to a vicious injury but he shocked the entire world by returning to action in 2020. Since then he has been doing a tremendous job in the ring.

Last year, he ended his long time tenure in WWE and joined AEW. This was the first time in 27 long years of his professional wrestling career that he was working outside of WWE. He had been greeted with open arms by the AEW management and the fans. He had already been a two times AEW TNT Champion which is the mid card title of the promotion.

Breaking: Edge Considering Retirement? The WWE Hall of Famer Finally Speaks Up

Edge may be going strong in the All Elite Wrestling but it must not be forgotten that he is 51 right now and he also returned from a deadly injury. So it may not be very easy for The Rated R Superstar to continue his wrestling career frequently. Recently, he spoke on “The Leafs Nation’s Up Close” podcast, where he discussed his retirement plans;

Edge is an 11 times WWE World Champion

“That’s going to be the big decision for me. Who do I get in there with last? I’d love to get in there with a young person and just try and strap a rocket to him. In my last match, what can I do to try to get someone set up? Or at least another block in the foundation to set them up to be able to take it further and further.

"I think to Bret [Hart], and I take his example, and I look at what he did for me. He didn’t need to do that. He didn’t need to put that time in and need to care, but he did. That really taught me the whole giving back is true.”

Edge

Edge is presently active in All Elite Wrestling

“I don’t want to be the old guy who is hanging on. I want wrestle somebody who I feel is going to be part of the future of AEW and just have fun, and experience it together, and after go, ‘Take it and run.’ I’m thinking maybe two years. Being off with a broken leg has kind of extended it. Six months that I’ve been off, tack that on.”

After his sensational return to action in early 2020, he had a great career in WWE. He even won the men’s Royal Rumble match in 2021 to feature on the main event of WrestleMania 37. But he also received some criticism for picking up back to back victories over younger stars like Seth Rollins and Finn Balor. No matter what, Edge will always be remembered as one of the top stars in the world of professional wrestling.
