One of the most famous JRPG series, Kingdom Hearts, had multiple projects going on at this moment, but unfortunately, one of their ongoing projects has been cancelled. The developer and the publisher of the franchise, Square Enix, recently announced this bad news.
Kingdom Hearts is a long running series, and it is also considered a side series of another famous RPG from Square, Final Fantasy. The first title of this video game was released back in 2002 exclusively for PlayStation 2. After seeing its huge success, Square Enix launched a sequel to this video game, which was released in December 2005 in Japan and in 2006 in the rest of the countries.

The Kingdom Hearts series started back in 2002
This famous series has also produced a number of spin off titles for other consoles and mostly for handheld consoles. But the main series remained superior among all of them. Despite the immense success of the series, Square Enix stopped producing games in the main series.
The work on the fourth part of the video game is presently in progress
Finally, in 2019, they came up with and for the first time, it was released on consoles outside of PlayStation too. In the meantime, they announced another video game named Kingdom Hearts Missing Ink for mobile devices, which is now cancelled. The development team announced the following;

“We wish to convey our heartfelt apologies to everyone who has been looking forward to the start of service.”
