Apple has just announced the release of iOS 26.1 Beta 3 for iPhone, open to developers and beta testers. Along with the design changes and user experience improvements made by Apple, countless other new changes have come with this update.

New slide to stop gesture added in alarm & timer controls: In iOS 26.1 beta 3, you now have to complete the task of stopping the alarm by means of a sliding gesture instead of just clicking it. This will greatly lessen the chances of inadvertently stopping sound.

Liquid Glass style applied on numeric keypad: The Liquid Glass effect has been applied to the Phone app's number entry interface, giving it a whole new and elegant look.

Support for additional languages: With the newly added languages, Apple Intelligence and Live Translation can now operate in Danish, Norwegian, Turkish, Chinese (traditional and simplified), etc.

Notification and Navigation Bar Updates: In some applications, the transparency of the navigation bar and notification background has been lessened so that text and icons can pop out.

Control Center icon color tweaks: The color of the toggle icons for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, and AirDrop has been slightly lightened and brightened.

Update for Which Devices?

The iOS 26.1 beta 3 version is for devices ranging from the iPhone 11. However, some of the advanced features should only work on the iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max and the iPhone 16 series, including the Apple Intelligence features.

How to Download and Install

The update can be obtained through Settings→General→Software Update→Beta Updates for developers or beta program participants.

You should always back up your data before proceeding. Bear in mind this is a beta version, and bugs and stability issues may arise.
