Every year, Apple surprises its users by adding a brand new feature to its iPhone range. Now, reports suggest that an important feature may be axed from the iPhone 18 series. The question is, do the current users mind this change, or do they just move on with it as time goes by?

What Feature Will Be Lost?
The iPhone 18 series may, according to trusted sources, completely get rid of the physical SIM card slot. This means that the new devices shall be dependent completely on eSIM technology. Apple already partially implemented this change in the US with the iPhone 14 series. Now, it seems that they are planning on making this the real deal worldwide.
What Users Are Saying?
There are people who believe eSIM is the future. It makes the phone design more compact, enhances its waterproof nature, and is very convenient for people who travel as activations can be done digitally with ease to select from another country or operator.
The downside to this is that many countries are not fully functional with eSIM services at this point. Specifically in Bangladesh, India, and a few African nations, the physical SIM remains the major medium. This probably can be considered a negative change for many users. Just giving it some perspective.

Apple's Perspective
It has always taken the front row seat in defining technology. They had previously taken out the headphone jack from the iPhone, taken out the charger, yet this has not affected iPhone sales. Thus, most analysts feel that even with the removal of the SIM slot from the iPhone 18, it will not matter to most users.
Its decisions are always future-oriented. Though some users might struggle at the get-go, they will gradually warm up to the eSIM setup with time.
So, if iPhone 18 does away with this "important" feature, the likelihood is that most customers would hardly care, as Apple, after all, exudes reliability, style, and innovation.
