So far, nothing is exciting from Apple's release, but the iOS 18.3 update has opened the door for an application developed by T-Mobile in cooperation with SpaceX, which can now be downloaded by a select group of iPhone users. Starlink direct-to-cell service enables these users to send messages (SMS/iMessage) over satellite when they travel outside areas deemed covered by a cell tower network.

Which Apple Phones will be enjoying this Newly Eligible Service?
As stated by T-Mobile, the aforementioned service is free to the specific Apple iPhone users, which includes models above the iPhone 14. However, with the release of iOS 18.5, it will also go for the iPhone 13 series.
What Works, What Doesn't
It currently works
Sending and receiving text messages, both SMS and iMessage
Calling emergency services.
If there's no mobile network, it automatically connects to Starlink.

Charging and plans
T-Mobile indicates that higher premium plan categories, such as Go5G or Beyond 5G, can carry this feature, with all other subscribers being charged as accessory charges, and exciting discounts are currently running. A few things to know about using it
The phone must have iOS 18.3 as a minimum.
Some phones, such as the Apple iPhone 14 and later or the iPhone 13 series with iOS 18.5 installed, will really matter for certain jobs.
Works completely under open, dense forests, under highly obstructed areas, or some obstructing areas do reduce the signal. However, most reports are supported by findings that say, even when the phone is in a pocket, satellite connections can be obtained.
If successful, the dead zones – those shadowy places without towers – would still have the communication line through a mobile network. If it happens, it will be a significant improvement for users when features like data, voice calls, and other advanced features are eventually rolled out. It is still unclear when exactly this service will be available in India or South Asia, as this really depends on technical clearances, satellite coverage, and local telecom regulations, etc.
