Dial-up internet was the leading way to connect to online access in the 90s and early 2000s. It would connect someone to the internet via a phone line with a business-like dial tone of the famous sounds for internet users at that time. It was one of the more famous ISPs at the time.

Even with the large advancements of broadband and mobile internet services, dial-up was being used in some of the remote areas of the U.S. Some users lagged far behind when it came to technology and would only check emails or do very light browsing.
