Acer, the popular Taiwan-based Electronics giant has been trying to expand its product portfolio for some time, shedding its image of a PC maker. After launching home appliances like washing machines on popular electric platforms like Flipkart, Acer has now made a foray into the fast-growing EV sector. It unveiled the MUVI-125-4G, its first-ever electric scooter at Noida EV India Expo. This battery-powered scooter is made in alliance with eBikeGo- a leading electric mobility platform.

The Acer MUVI-125-4G is being hailed as the first model in the upcoming line-up of two- and three-wheelers, powered by batteries. The electric scooter is sturdily built and has a light-weight chassis. It gets stylish and rugged 16-inch wheels. Acer has made use of swappable batteries to make things better for target users. The company says, its first electric scooter can cover 80 km after a full charge cycle and the top speed is pegged at 60-75 kmph.

Acer has plans to make the MUVI-125-4G commercially available in November 2023, during the Diwali festivities. At only 83 kg, the model is quite lightweight. It has a 3kW electric motor inside. Acer thinks the EV will be a hit with urban commuters looking for an eco-friendly, compact vehicle with a manageable running cost. It will lock horns with rivals from the stables of Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki.
