Pixel 10 is finally on it's way to receive it's upgrade that is pending since a long time now. Recently Google pops a hint saying about Pixel's PWM dimming style. There are users who are sensitive to screen flickering, with this in mind the company is planning to bring this upgradation.

Pixel 10 to Steal it's Users' Hearts

Google Pixel 10

A recent report claims of Google working to improve the PWM dimming rates in the Pixel 10 series. Before going further, let us know about PWM in the first place.

Pulse-Width Modulation is in short known as PWM. This chiefly functions to help OLED displays control the level of brightness. It stimulates the low brightness level as a result of which some users might have eye strains and headaches.

What Level of PWM is Absolutely Suitable?

You have eye sight issue or not, in either case your eyes will thank you if the PMW rate is high. In short, it is better for your eyes with higher PWM rates.

To point out, the Pixel 9 series uses PWM of 240Hz. In contrast, Samsung Galaxy S25 uses PWM of 492Hz, but is still not ideal yet way ahead than Pixel 9.

Who Uses the Best of PWM?

On the positive side, Honor uses the best of PWM for it's phones. Honor Magic 6 model in particular features high PWM of 4,320Hz dimming rate even when the brightness level reaches below 30%, giving ease to the eyes. Another key point, the PWM turns 360Hz when brightness level crosses above 30%.

What does Google have to Say about this?

Google in a recent statement says about this change in particular is mainly coming up for it's future Pixel handsets. This rings in the probability of Pixel 10 launch later of this year.

However, there is no news from the brand saying whether they will consider dimming DC which is an alternate for flicker free. It is used by brands like Xiaomi. This change by Google is welcome as well.

Google comming up with higher PWM will honestly increase the comfort level of the user in it's daily use. This can result in making the device more appealing for the consumers.
