LG, together with another smartphone brand Nokia stepped down from their smartphone market all of a sudden. But Nokia handsets, as can be seen are still available in the market for the users with the help of HMD Global.

LG's Complete Market Disappearance!
In other words, this South Korean brand did not launch any new smartphone in the market from the time they decided to shut their smartphone sector. Not only this, the brand sold off all their patents to other market giants like Oppo.
What's LG Thinking Now
Not only it's smartphones, but also the update servers are to be shutdown as per the brand's announcement earlier of this month. This clearly means, no more update feature for the ones who still use the brand's smartphones.
Limited Time Left for LG Users for Updating their Handsets
As the brand announced, the update servers will function till 29 June of this year. So, one can still update your handsets as long as it is not shutting down on June 30, 2025. As the company is already out of it's smartphone businesses, it is very unlikely for them to bring in any latest updates for it's newest models.
Latest Exclusive Updates by the Brand
The brand did deliver it's major OS upgraded version of Android 12 to it's eligible models. But this was around four years back, and there has been no more updation up to the present time.
Although the brand might not have released any more updates after Android 12, it did keep quiet a lot of it's models updated by occasionally launching the latest security updates for the next three years.

Trending News but Definitely Not Unusual
Since 2024, the servers of the company for Android updating are not in use for any purpose. And hence, this news of shutting the server system down does not seem strange at all although it is now trending all over.
Countdown Begins for LG Already?
The brand in it's latest post thanks it's customers for supporting it's smartphone businesses. The post next reads about the brand closing FOTA which is their smartphone software upgrade. They will also shut down their update centers and LG Bridge Service dot on 30 June, 2025 without delay.
What would this Mean for it's Users?
This announcement may be important but more than that it is a matter of concern especially for it's users at the present time. But all things considered, we can assume that most of the conscious users already started using other company's mobile phones after the brand put out their decision to step down from smartphone businesses.
