Gemini is no more a multi-step process. It is now not just easy to use but also customizable as per your most used features. Google has begun to bring in Gemini widgets for the home screen in both Android and iOS.
Just One Tap on your Home Screen and you Launch into Gemini Conversation
This latest upgrade is happening at a wider level gradually. If you are an Android 10 or higher user, you have an easy way to bring in Gemini on your home screen. Just long press the Widgets, find the feature in the list, drag and set it in your desired part of the home screen.
For iOS 17 and higher the steps are somewhat same. First hold onto your home screen and see the icons jiggle, second click the plus button and search Gemini and add the widget accordingly.
Is this Update Worth it's Hype?
Although this can not be called groundbreaking, it does speak a lot about how users might use the feature for their requirements yet not indulge themselves completely when not needed.
If you use this AI feature for your day to day task, this update might make your work a little more convenient. This update is not just a coincidence if we consider how Siri an Google Assistant perform.
Is it the First time Gemini Coming up with something like this?
No! This is not the first time Google doing this. Few months ago, the company came up with something very similar to this for the iPhone lockscreen. They are similar in functioning but are technically different form of widget.
You will have access to the Gemini widgets when Google rolls them out the next week. But for now only lock screen variant is available.
Any Special Strategy by Google?
Well there's nothing that can be answered in particular at the moment. But this might be a smart strategy by the brand to inculcate AI in the lives of the consumers for their daily uses and not just occassionally.
Inculcation of this in the smartphones makes Gemini more like a core service that in turn will lead Google towards other ventures.
