Throughout the last 31 years, loads of big titles have been released for the five different PlayStation consoles. PS1, the first video game console from Sony had a huge library of games with loads of big exclusives like Tekken 3, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, and of course, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

There are other titles too that dominated the houses of the PS1 gamers. The racing games on PS1 were also top notch. One of the best racing game series in the platform was indeed Ridge Racer which had a number of top titles exclusive for it.

32 year old PlayStation Launch title is returning after 32 years

The game series was first designed for the Arcade cabinets. The first Ridge Racer was released back in 1993 on Arcade only. With its massive success in the Arcade parlors, the makers decided to port it to the new console from Sony, which was PlayStation 1.

Ridge Racer was one of the launch titles for PS1 back in 1994 and it was a direct port of the famous Arcade video game of the same title. Ridge Racer returned to Arcades with its next part but in 1995, they came back with a new title for PS1 named Ridge Racer Revolution and it was a big success.

Recently, it has been announced that the first Ridge Racer is coming back after 32 long years as an Arcade Archive 2 title. Gamers from three different platforms will be able to play this relaunch; PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2.

It is also reported that the game will have new contents. Release date has also been revealed for the title which is June 5. For further clarification, this is not going to be a remastered version like a lot of recent released titles. Hopefully, the vintage game will be well received by the present day gamers.
