Audiobooks are to be made available with their external links for the iPhone Spotify app users but only for the the ones in the U.S. and not all can enjoy this update. This was officially submitted to Apple by Spotify on Friday and is on the way of approval. If the tech company approves this update plan of the music company then the Premium users will get to purchase top-up for add on listening of the audiobook.

When did this Order for Audiobooks come?

Audiobooks

The change arrives right after a order issued last week by Judhe Yvonne Gonzalez in the Epic Game vs. Apple where the later company is found of violation of an injunction of 2021.

Through this order Apple now cannot take any extra commission of 27% for purchase through external links. Also the company developers can no longer manipulate the users to make any purchase beyond the App Store.

How did Spotify React to the Order?

It is following this order Spotify now allows it's users to buy or avail subscriptions through the external links.

Changes to be Seen in the App

A major change to be seen in the app is the adding of links and all information of pricing for the audiobooks. Spotify back in times did attempt to avoid the restrictions by Apple where it did not display the price for the audiobooks openly in the app. Instead it sent the links of the audiobooks via emails to the app users.

Finally Spotify managed to get the purchase permission from Apple. And what did it state next? As per some sources Spotify says that this might help by allowing users to get the price information and links easily accessible to buy their digital products using their iPhones where Apple will no longer impose any extra tax.

Although Apple is continuing to restrict this yet it is undoubtedly very helpful for the users, authors and developers all around.

Apple's Stand to the Order

The company seems not so happy with this plan as it has already appealed the court to pause the order.
